If This Is The ASUS ROG Phone 4 It's Probably The Base Model

It looks like the ASUS ROG Phone 4 may have just popped up on a benchmark website. With some scores associated with the tests typically ran with most phones to see how they perform on paper.

A recent leak suggests that the information found in the benchmark test points to the ROG Phone 4. Though no actual source was mentioned and there are a few things to consider when looking at the benchmark data.

Another thing worth mentioning is that even if the data is accurate and it is for the ROG Phone 4, the information on paper is vastly different from how the phone could perform in real world use. That being said, if the phone in the benchmarks is the ROG Phone 4 it seems a little underwhelming compared to all three of ASUS' previous ROG Phone devices.

This is also probably the base model as ASUS tends to release more than one version. So when you think about it that way it doesn't seem so bad.

The ROG Phone 4 benchmark suggests it comes with 8GB of RAM

8GB of RAM in a phone isn't bad by any means and it's not uncommon for ASUS either. The ROG Phone, the ROG Phone II, and the ROG Phone 3 all had 8GB RAM models.

They also came with 128GB of Storage for games, apps, and anything else. But there were additional versions that came with 12GB of RAM and more storage. So if this benchmark data is the next device in this lineup, expect some more powerful variants to be available.

As it would be very uncharacteristic of ASUS to launch an 8GB RAM model only. Especially given how demanding some mobile games are getting these days.

ASUS will use the Snapdragon 888 as the mobile platform

Other than that there's not a whole lot of additional information. No details on camera quality, storage amounts, screen resolution of refresh rate, or any of the other cool features that make the ROG Phones worth getting.

So take the information from the benchmark as you will. It may not include all of the most juicy details about the device. But it does still warrant some excitement if you've been a fan of ASUS' mobile gaming presence.
